Our Founder: Mrs. Juliana

A heart that followed its calling

Kevalee International School was founded through the vision and lifelong passion of Mrs. Juliana, a devoted educator whose journey began with courage and love for learning.

At just 16 years old, she became one of the very first Thai students to study in Australia. Her parents had enrolled her in a secretarial and accounting program — a sensible and respected path at the time. But when she arrived, she discovered that the school also offered a course in education. In that moment, she knew she had found her true calling.

With great bravery, she went to see the School Principal, knelt down, and begged for the opportunity to study to become a teacher. Moved by her sincerity, the Principal agreed — and kindly did not charge any additional fees. It was a full year later that her parents learned of the change, by which time their daughter had already proven her deep dedication to education.

After completing her studies, Mrs. Juliana returned to Thailand and devoted more than 31 years to teaching in prominent international schools in Bangkok. Her students remember her not only for her wisdom, but for her warmth, kindness, and belief that every child deserves to be nurtured with care and understanding.

On August 25, 1996, she fulfilled her dream by founding Kevalee International School — a place where learning is filled with heart. What began as a small international kindergarten in a peaceful neighborhood gradually grew into a full K–12 school, guided by her belief that quality education should be accessible, caring, and deeply human.

Mrs. Juliana’s story continues to inspire all who walk through Kevalee’s gates — reminding us that true education begins with love, courage, and the faith to follow one’s dream.
